The most amazing thing about retreat centers is that you probably won’t be stuck on set dates. Yoga Retreat Centers often have a schedule during the high season, or even all-year-round. Which makes it amazing if your scheduling isn’t that flexible.
In this article, I’ll be talking about some great centers in Costa Rica. Just because the seasons almost never change in this amazing country. So, whether you’ll be going there during the summer or the winter, temperatures are always nice, and the sun is guaranteed.
Just be sure that you won’t travel during the rainy season. Even though you’ll be getting sunny days, you’ll also be having a lot of showers.
Blue Osa Yoga Retreat + Spa
This center has been on my radar for a long time now and I just had to give it the first spot.
Founders Adam and Aaron have done a sublime job creating a piece of heaven on earth. Whether it’s from their great farm-to-table cuisine all the way to there luxurious spa, you can see that both founders have done some great work building up this retreat center.
I remember that they did have more things going on for the LGBT community and that was their prime target group. So it’s a shame that they’ve rebranded a bit and have gone primarily main-stream.
Out of a business perspective, I do understand it though, and even now I’d still want to go there.
Another great thing they’ve added to their center is that they offer a great wedding venue. Who doesn’t dream of a wedding at the beach, am I right? Well, they offer it!
And you don’t have to worry about a single thing. While everything is being set up, you can sit down and relax at the pool, or even get a massage.
Just promise me I can be the man of honour please!
And then the yoga. They offer quite a wide range of yoga retreats and even teacher trainings all-year-round. If you are looking for something particular, like escaping the winter, they probably have it.
Just make sure you check out their calendar regularly as they add retreats to it quite often.
Blue Spirit Retreat Center
The location of this retreat is absolutely superb. I’m a bit of a sucker for mountains, so it’s no surprise that this is one of my favourites as well.
In the middle of the jungle, right on top of the mountain, you’ll find this amazing resort. And a great bonus is that it’s just a quick walk to the beach.
The owners are quite lucky as well as they are located next to a turtle refuge. Meaning that even in the future not a lot will change in the environment.
Besides trees and flowers that will keep on growing.
As a yoga retreat center, this is a must-stay. They don’t only offer some great yoga retreats, they are also focused on vegetarian meals. And if you’d like, you can even go for the full detox program, which includes some juice cleansing.
Another great amenity that they offer is a saltwater infinity pool. This pool makes it look like you are swimming in between the local vegetation.
They have so much to offer that I’m really speechless, so it’s best to go and check it out yourself.
AHKi Retreat Center
Are you ready to bath your soul into the wellness it deserves? Well, that’s more than possible at this retreat center.
They don’t host retreats themselves, but they offer their location. That said, most of the retreats that are hosted with them, are also offered on their website.
Have a quick look if there is something that fits you. As they are working with people from the outside, they offer a wide range of different styles of retreats. There’s even a retreat for empaths coming up.
If you are interested in hosting a retreat here yourself, it’s highly recommended!
Other than yoga, there are many more things they have to offer.
You can relax in their amazing pool, book yourself some massages or go on of their organized excursions.

Anamaya Resort
This resort has probably to most spectacular buddha hall that I’ve ever seen. They don’t really call it buddha hall though, but it just gives this feeling of tranquility and serenity.
If you’ve never meditated on a deck with a great view then this might be the place for you!
Their hall has been amazingly constructed and decorated. It’s like you are in a temple! The great pillars that have carvings on them with yoga poses make it look like a shrine. And it also transmits that vibe as well.
The rest of the center has been built onto the mountain. Which makes it have a feeling of a little village, rather than a resort. It’s also really great though, as you do have the feeling that there are so many things you still have to discover when you are walking around.
Besides Yoga Retreats, they also offer yoga teacher trainings, so it’s definitely worth checking this out as well.
Rancho Delicioso
If you are into eco-travel, then this is the place for you. This ranch has a lot to offer regarding ecology.
If you’d like you can even volunteer here, this will give you a great learning experience into things like permaculture and ecological construction.
If you are just looking to relax though, and you don’t want to have a big, big ecological footprint, you can also book a yoga retreat or surf camp.
These retreats will make sure you’ll be getting a glimpse of what it’s like to build an eco-village, and you’ll be taking care of yourself at the same time.
Even though it’s not your typical resort, so no facials here, there is still a lot they have to offer.
Go for a walk and relax in the orchards, connect to like-minded people, do some yoga, and many more.
This location is really the place to be when we’re talking about going green!

Oh this is very good, to see that there are some good retreats in Costa Rica going on. It seems great and every other person from other parts of the world actually Will’s be able to attend a retreat. I like that you put this together and although I don’t stay in that country, I am happy for those that love around there

The blue spirit retreat center is one that caught my attention. having its location In the middle of the jungle, right on top of the mountain is awesome and i would love that kind of location. i think if i am opportune to get to Costa Rica soon, then i would give it a try. thank you for this information.
